Read More“All Old Things Must Pass” delivers a lot of what has been missing through the middle of the show. It gets the benefit of wrapping up the plot, so it’s bound to feel more connected. It also has an efficiency of story-telling that has been missing for weeks, though. Hopefully, that energy can continue into the final episode next week
Read MoreStill, it wouldn’t be the show we all love if there weren’t a lot of things frontloaded onto the season. I’m glad the show will have the ability to jump around the time streams. It’d be a bit much to get stuck in one place for 13 episodes. Plus, it’ll be fun to see the different Koenigs (Patton Oswald). Maybe, just maybe, we’ll even get some cross over from the big screen? I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Though with time travel, you never know.
Read MoreA two-part finale starts next week, and as a viewer, I’m not feeling a lot of anticipation. The writers want me to care about the liberation of the planet but have failed to get me there. At this point, I’m a bit concerned that part one won’t relate to part two.
Read More“Control” doesn’t alter the lives of its characters in the same way that other episodes do. Instead, we see Danny’s family and how they deal with life after Danny appears to fall into a coma.
Read MoreIt seemed like we were in for a treat, combined with some nostalgic ribbing of bad 80’s sci-fi. Instead, the show falls into the same traps as the movies it tries to pay tribute to and leaves viewers wanting more. Hopefully, with only three episodes left, it will find a way to deliver. It’s not looking too promising at the moment, though.
Read MoreYou like free games, right? This weekend you can grab a copy of “Aegis Defenders” free, courtesy of Impending Fascination and Humble Bundle. You’ll need to set up a Steam account if you don’t already have one. The game is available for both PC and Mac. Developer Guts Department describes the game: HUMANITY HAS BEEN […]
Read More“Requiem for Republic” shows us Lazaro’s (Paul du Toit) gruesome rise to power. We also get to follow up with our team and the fallout from last week’s revelations. I would have rathered that the writers would have spent a bit more time with our heroes because the result is an episode that is difficult […]
Read More“Echo Sphere” is one of the more confusing “Tales From the Loop” entries. Not that the plot isn’t easy to follow, but more because of its ramifications for future episodes. The previous chapters have all had some hook that leads into the next. Additionally, there has been some experiment from The Loop that drove the […]
Read MoreTherein lies the problem of “Temple of Doom.” There is no clear motivation for the characters to go forward. If Elida doesn’t care about the empire she left behind, she doesn’t have the drive to get the powerful thing back from Lazaro. And since Lazaro has it, he no longer needs to continue hunting Elida (except out of spite, but that isn’t going to make for exciting viewing.) Issac supposedly has his way home. I’m sure we’ll see some betrayal of that, but will it matter to the show? Next week has a lot to do to ease my doubts as a viewer.
