PlayStation Adds New State Of Play Broadcast, First Episode Focuses Mostly On New VR Games

PlayStation has launched its own monthly behind the scenes live-stream.  “State of Play” will give information on upcoming releases for the company each month.  The first episode focused heavily on upcoming VR releases which probably isn’t a bad thing.  News on that front has been quiet enough in recent months that you wouldn’t be blamed for wondering if Sony was thinking of getting out of the VR field.  With the announcement that that company has sold 4.2 million headsets though, it looks like Sony is in the market for a while longer.

Among the titles announced for the PSVR headset is a new Iron-Man game. Camouflaj, the studio behind ‘Republique’ is developing the game that will put players inside Tony Stark’s suit.  ‘No Man’s Sky’, the industry lesson in how to turn around a failed title launch, will add VR support to the game later this year.  Frankly, it was the promise of VR for this game that made me go with PSVR in the first place, so that is exciting news.  The update will be free to all players making the news even better.  ‘Crash Team Racing – Nitro Fueled’ brings a remaster of the 1999 Crash Bandicoot racing game to VR.  And lastly, ‘Five Nights At Freddy’s’ will launch into the VR realm this fall in ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s VR: Help Wanted’.

It’s beginning to sound as though Sony is gearing for a big holiday push on it’s VR headset.  Could they be planning a new release for the hardware as well?
