“Star Trek: Lower Decks” will premiere on CBS All Access Thursday, August 6th. To get you ready, the network has released a trailer for the show. It looks like we’ll be getting a mix of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and “Rick and Morty”. Of course, that thought makes sense given that Mike McMahan is responsible for the show.
CBS All Access will release new episodes of the show weekly. Sorry binge fans, the earliest you’ll be able to sit down and watch them all will be in October. “Lower Decks” features Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner, Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler, Eugene Cordero as Ensign Rutherford, and Noël Wells as Ensign Tendi. The show will follow the four Ensigns’ adventures, assigned to support duty aboard the USS Cerritos.
I’m betting that CBS All Access will hold the premiere of “Star Trek: Discovery” until after “Lower Decks” is done. If that is true, it’s looking like “Discovery” won’t premiere until October 15th. Which at the moment seems far away in a Pandemic year where time is all confused anyway. At least now, there will be something to fill the time.
