“The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D”, Or, “Chopping Mall”

“The Totally Excellent Adventures of Mack and the D” is a wild ride through bad 80’s movies. If you don’t believe me, you might want to give the 1986 film “Chopping Mall” a view. It is straight-up terrible in ways that beg for watching. Preferably with friends and with alcohol. Fortunately, “Agents of SHIELD” uses […]

Adapt Or Die Isn’t A Warning You Should Give The “Agents of SHIELD”

After a discussion with Sybil the Predictor (Tamara Taylor) that is more about Coulson’s speech than learning much, Coulson blows up the Chronicom hunter forms that were about to be awakened. Good news for the team, but we also apparently lose Coulson in the explosion. We did have a whole long conversation about him being able to come back from the dead, so I don’t think he’s gone, but it still makes for a good midseason rattle ’em up. Adapt or die indeed.

Agents Of SHIELD Bring Someone Out Of The Past

What is an LMD like you doing in a slightly altered past like this? “Out of the Past” is the film-noir tribute that the producers of “Agents of SHIELD” have probably wanted to do since one of them first mentioned time-travel. Fortunately, it’s a fun roll through the genre. It also packs a little more into the look at racism and sexism that “Alien Commies From The Future!” started. The future also gets a gift from the past that is pretty spoilery, so we’ll talk about that later.

“Know Your Onions” Adds A Few Layers To “Agents Of SHIELD”

And then that was it for the 1930s. The Chronicoms move on with SHIELD hot on their trail. It will undoubtedly come into play that Enoch was left behind. He ends up working with Koenig (Patton Oswald), possibly beginning an explanation as to why there are so many Koenigs in the future. Could Koenig be a new Chronicom himself? Could it be him that is ultimately responsible for the continued existence of SHIELD? “Know Your Onions” doesn’t tell us, but we’ll find out if he pops up in the next time destination.

Agents of SHIELD – The Sign And New Life Review

The ending of ‘New Life,’ the second part of the ‘Agents of SHIELD’ season conclusion almost explains the rushed feeling of the season finale this year.  It’s almost as if the writers just wanted to hurry and finish the Shrike threads so they could get to what will be fully revealed in season 7.  Not a bad […]

Agents Of SHIELD – Leap Review

Ok, I know it’s my own fault.  I often watch ‘Agents of SHIELD’ and promptly forget the details of each episode, not to mention entire seasons.  That is part of what makes watching things like ‘Doctor Who’ fun – I’m not really hung up on the continuity, so when things don’t line up it doesn’t bother me […]

Collision Course Part Two Closes Out The First Half of Agents of SHIELD But Leaves More Intriguing Questions

I’ve said it before with this show and it shines through again in ‘Collision Course Part Two’: SHIELD works best when the whole team is together.  Separate them off across the universe and something just feels off.  So when the team does reunite by the midseason conclusion (well, this episode would have served that purpose if […]
